Oblivious Drivers
Monday evening I wanted to commute home on the bike from the new office. It is located on Capital Circle, one of the busiest roads in Tallahassee. I thought that I would be OK in the bike lane, since any driver would recognize that the lane if off limits to them. Well, by now you have guessed where this is going. Some girl, not paying attention to what she was doing, cut me off while making a right hand turn off of Capital Circle. I layed into the brakes hard, and tried to make an instaturn. Still, there was a slight collision. I was just scratched, and I thought the bike was OK. Well, now the bike is in the shop and I am mad. I should have, and if it happens again, phoned the cops. I can't believe how little attention people pay to driving. The law should take away people's cars when they do something stupid. Maybe that will correct some of the problems we have on the roads.

Search and Rescue and Sweeny Todd
This weekend was busy. On Saturday morning, Jennifer went to work and Eric and I went to help with the search effort for a local missing person. We volunteered as communicators, and brought our HAM radio gear in tow. Unfortunately, there were not enough volunteers to deploy all of the communicators. Fortunately, the search teams did find several possible pieces of evidence.
Later Saturday Jennifer and I drove to Live Oak to see a play that her sister Katherine was in: Sweeny Todd. Katherine did an excellent job playing Tobias. I would not be surprised to see her on Broadway some day.
While we were in Live Oak, we also met up with some friends, Heather and John. They are in Florida this week, taking a break from NY.

Springtime 10K

We did it! Jennifer and I ran the Springtime 10K this past weekend. She did great and improved on her fastest time. I didn't get the time I wanted, but still set a PR of 48:28, and even got my name is the Tallahassee Democrat. I have included a picture from the Springtime 10K training group party. Unfortunately, I may never beat my PR. The neurosurgeon that worked on my back said to cut back on running. He encouraged me to do more swimming. I think I will try to work in swimming and cycling, and a few short runs per week.

Furry Scurry
Yesterday, Jennifer and I entered the Furry Scurry race 5K/10K at Tom Brown Park. Jennifer entered the 5K and I entered the 10K. It was a nice cool morning and almost the entire run was a trail run. The beginning and end of the race was awful. We started with 300 people on a narrow trail going down a hill, that created a major bottleneck. Soo, since it was a loop, we had to run back up that same hill at the end.

Been a while

I will try to fill you in. Had 2 surguries on my back. Posterior Lumbar Laminectomy with fusion. Started running again. Jennifer and I are planning on entering a 10K on April 1st. The Tallahassee Springtime 10K. I will try to update this thing a little more often. Anyway, I have included a pic from my back surgury and from Jennifer training for a run.
